About the Role
The role will primarily support and enhance ACA’s Privacy Program and Information Security. This includes monitoring, analyzing, and communicating updates on Privacy and Information Security laws, creating, and updating related policies and procedures, and responding to business and customer inquiries. This is an opportunity to learn, provide value, and elevate important work in emerging areas of law.
 
In addition, the Legal Analyst I will also contribute to ACA’s broader Law Change Management by monitoring, analyzing, and communicating updates on changes to federal and state laws, and regulations relevant to our business.

About the Team
Our Legal Department provides guidance and support in a broad range of complex issues, including federal and state consumer protection laws, litigation, transactional matters, contracts, corporate governance, and many others.

Your Role:
  • Assist the team in responding to subpoenas and regulatory requests for information.
  • Prepare, draft, review, and edit well-structured legal communications, documents, and forms to clearly articulate complex legal concepts and ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards for various stakeholders.
  • Advise and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization on legal matters.
  • Stay updated on current laws, regulations, and legal guidance relevant to the consumer finance and FinTech industry.
  • Gather and compile relevant legal information from various resources, including law research databases, codes, regulations, treatises, counsel communications, and internal databases.
  • Manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
 Qualifications: 
  • Minimum 1 year of demonstrated experience as a legal analyst; consumer finance (auto finance, credit cards, mortgage loans, auto loans) experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree; law, paralegal, legal analyst, or related field of study preferred.
  • Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (advanced knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel), databases, and legal research software
  • Solid understanding of consumer finance laws. Additional knowledge in data privacy, governance, risk, regulatory compliance a plus.
Position Details 
  • Full-time position: 100% onsite in Spartanburg, SC.
  • Must be able to commute to the office five days a week.
  • Relocation: Open to candidates willing to relocate. Position requires relocation to Spartanburg, SC by the start date.
